PURPOSE:To attain quick and smooth operation without deteriorating the operability by dialing a major part of a telephone number of a called party through the abbreviated dial service and dialing manually a different part of the number of the called party. CONSTITUTION:When the number of digits of plural numbers of called parties is in total 10 digits and the high-order 7 digits has the same number, it is regis tered as an abbreiated dial registration data. When an extension subscriber SUB-A applies abbreviated dial operation, it is received and counted by an outgoing register 4, transferred to a central controller 5, expanded into a called party subscriber number and stored in a storage device 6. After the SUB-A listens to a service set tone from a service set tone generator 7, the SUB-A dials manually a number not included in the abbreviated dial registration data within a prescribed time. The outgoing register 4 receives and counts the manual dial information and transferrs it to the central controller 5. The controller 5 extracts the called party number from the storage device 6 and transmits the number to a sender 9.
