PURPOSE:To keep the value of a side clearance proper to improve compression efficiency by arranging thin steel plates slightly smaller tin diameter than a cylinder bore on side plates in a vane type compressor for car cooling. CONSTITUTION:Thin steel plates 23a, 23b slightly smaller in diameter than a cylinder bore 16 are oppositely arranged on the side plates 21, 22 of a vane type compressor. Both the thin steel plates 23a, 23b are not fixed to remain free at high temperature without deformation caused by any stress. The values of side clearances between both the side plates and a rotor 17, a vane 19 are therefore properly established. In addition, since equal force acts on the both sides of the thin steel plates, these plates can remain at the central position of the clearance and therefore keep a proper clearance.
