PURPOSE:To prevent color mixing with a small-sized device by selecting one among plural developing devices for colors which can be attached and detached to and from an image carrying body and are provided with openable and closable covers to cover a sleeve and bringing the selected developing device into proximity to the image carrying body. CONSTITUTION:An eccentrix roller 14 corresponding to the developing device 3 turns in an arrow A direction and lifts the device 3 toward the arrow direction so as to bring the device 3 into proximity to the image carrying body 1 when one of the plural developing devices having toners of different colors is selected by a control part not shown. The cover 12 of the sleeve 13 is at the same time retreated by link mechanisms 15-20 so that the sleeve 13 faces the body 1, then the toner development is started. The size of the device is thereby reduced and the mixing of the different color toners is prevented. A beautiful image is thus formed. |
