PURPOSE:To improve sealing effect by laminating a sponge-like sealing member and felt-like sealing member between a cylindrical developer carrying body which extends to the notches at both side walls of a developer hopper and rotates and the notches. CONSTITUTION:The hopper 10 is formed of a front wall 12, a rear wall 13 and both side walls 14. The arc-shaped notches 15 are provided to the walls 14. The developer carrying body 18 is freely rotatably supported via side seals 25 in the notches 15. The body 18 is rotated and the developer in the hopper is supplied to a photosensitive drum not shown, by which the latent image on the drum is developed. The seal 25 is formed by adhering the 1st sealing member 26 consisting of the sponge-like member such as urethane sponge to the notch 15 and laminating the 2nd sealing member 27 consisting of 'Teflon(R)' felt thereon. The leakage of the developer is thus effectively prevented and the increase of the force for driving the body 18 by friction is suppressed. |
