A method of regulating the immune system of a mammal, which comprises administering to said mammal an immuno-regulatory agent, wherein said agent is selected from the group consisting of compounds of the formula (I): <IMAGE> (I) (wherein R represents hydrogen or a C1-C3 alkyl group) and pharmaceutically acceptable salts and esters thereof.
