PURPOSE:To minimize the current consumption in the coil while preventing the quenching of the super-conductive coil, by decreasing the current down to the coil's current value in which the coil's wire material will not be broken when the transition is detected in the superconductive coil. CONSTITUTION:The transition detecting section 51-57 is provided on the plasma control coil 41-47 and outputs the signal indicating the transition or its sign to the transition detector 14 within the control unit 1. When the transition is detected in the coil 41, the detector 14 activates to feed a transition signal and the coil current I1a at that time to the evaluating function generator 12, and the operator 11 determines and controls the current I1-I7 through the coil 41-47 under the condition of the evaluating function. At this time, the current I1 is controlled so as not to exceed the value of the current I1a without producing the quenching of the coil 41. The decrement of the current value in the coil 41 after the transition is detected is adjusted with the remaining coil current I2-I7. |
