PURPOSE:To enable a paper to be accurately positioned even where dust is adhered to the surface of the paper, by positioning the paper through detecting both ends of a mark. CONSTITUTION:When a photosensor is located at position (a) where the mark 40 is absent, an output is at L level. The paper is fed in the downward direction of an arrow from the position (a) until the output level reaches an H level. When the paper comes to a position (b), the output reaches an H level due to the perforation. The paper is then fed over a fixed distance up to (c). From the position (c), the paper is reversely fed until the output reaches an H level. When the output of the sensor reaches the H level at position (d), the paper is fed further over a fixed distance up to (e), and is set in a normal position. When starting printing, the paper is fed in the direction F, is fed to a position (f) where the output of the sensor reaches the H level, and printing is started. Accordingly, since the paper is positioned through detecting both ends of the mark 40, the paper can be accurately positioned unless a foreign matter ranging over the end (d) to the end (f) is adhered to the paper. |
