Tri-alkali metal di(carboxyalkyl) dithiocarbamates and triammonium-di(carboxyalkyl) dithiocarbamates which can be characterized by the formula <IMAGE> wherein R and R' can be the same or different and are selected from the group consisting of alkylene radicals, preferably alkylene radicals each preferably having from 1 to 12 carbon atoms, and wherein M is selected from the group consisting of alkali metal atoms and ammonium; their use as ore flotation depressants; and a process for making these novel compositions are disclosed.
