PURPOSE:To print with high accuracy and enable to cope with higher-speed printing, by a method wherein a rubber cylinder reciprocated between a type bed and a platen is moved forward while moving rails up so that the rubber cylinder does not make contact with a free end part of bound papers on the platen, thereafter the rails are lowered. CONSTITUTION:The rubber cylinder 9 reciprocated along the guide rails 10 between the type bed 7 and the platen 3 is moved forward while lifting up the rails 10 so that the cylinder 9 does not make contact with the free end part of the bound papers M set on the platen 3, and when moving the cylinder 9 backward, the rails 10 are lowered and the cylinder 9 is pressed against the free end part of the papers M, thereby surprinting. A sucker 36 moved vertically and reciprocated in synchronism with the rubber cylinder 9 is lowered to a corner position of the free end part of the surprinted bound papers M, and the printed sheets are sucked up one sheet at a time. The printing step and the turning step are intermittently repeated sequentially and automatically. |
