PURPOSE:To prevent concentrating discharge, and to obtain a high laser oscillation output while enabling stable oscillation for a prolonged time by working a magnetic field in the direction orthogonal to laser oscillating currents through an electrode for a laser oscillator. CONSTITUTION:Magnetic fields applied to an anode 6 and a cathode 7 are directed in the direction orthogonal to laser oscillating currents through the anode 6 and the cathode 7. A controller 29 is worked on the movement of discharge points on the surfaces of the anode 6 and the cathode 7 by the magnetic fields and the generation of concentrating discharge or on the detection of the precursory state of the generation of concentration discharge, a coil 26b is supplied with pulse currents by a power supply device 28 to work a variable magnetic field, and magnetic blowout action functions. Accordingly, concentrating discharge is prevented, stable oscillation is enabled for a prolonged time, and a high laser oscillating output is acquired. |
