摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent a stabilizer from being damaged by fire when thermionic radiation materials provided in close vicinity to the coil filament of a starter are leaked from a luminous tube by enclosing them in an outer tube in a form of inert barium nitride and activating them in a heating exhaust process. CONSTITUTION:A high pressure sodium lamp and such are formed by housing electrodes 7A and 7B, a luminous tube 3 in which xenon, mercury, and light emitting materials are enclosed, a heat response switch 9, a coil filament 10, and a starter 4 consisting of the series connection body of a thermionic radiation carrier 19 made of the metal coated with barium nitride that is an inert thermionic radiation material. In addition, after barium nitride is enclosed in an outer tube 1, it is decomposed in a heating exhaust process and active thermionic radiation materials are generated. As a result, the deterioration of the thermionic radiation materials can be prevented, the coil filament 10 can accurately be disconnected when they are leaked from the luminous tube 3, and a stabilizer 21 can be prevented from being damaged by fire.
