PURPOSE:To enable prevention of deterioration in the coefficient of heat exchanging through removal of dust adhered to ball bodies, by a method wherein a first and a second space chamber, between which heat exchange is effected through the medium of the ball bodies, are positioned adjacent to each other. CONSTITUTION:Heat exchanger 1 is provided with a first space chamber 3 into which high temperature gas is introduced and a second space chamber 4 into which low temperature gas is introduced, the two chambers being positioned adjacent to each other. The interior of the two space chambers 3 and 4 is filled with a number of ball bodies 9 made of ceramic, and a screw conveyer 10 is provided between the bottom parts of the two space chambers 3 and 4 for conveying the ball bodies 9 in the second space chamber 4 to the first space chamber 3 side. A screen 11 for discharging dust is attached to the bottom wall part of the screw conveyer 10, and a rotary valve 17 is provided at the upper part between the two space chambers 3 and 4 for conveying the ball bodies 9 in the first space chamber 3 to the second space chamber 4 side. The ball bodies 9, absorbing the heat of high temperature gas in the first space chamber 3, are conveyed in the second space chamber 4 through the rotary valve 17, and the ball bodies imparts heat to low temperature gas, and the ball bodies 9, radiating the heat, are conveyed to the first space chamber 3 through the working of the screw conveyer 10. |
