<p>A device is proposed which serves to wipe motor vehicle windows. The wiper device comprises a wiper shaft which is preferably driven in pendular fashion and to which part of a wiper arm which is divided transversely to its longitudinal extent is attached. At the free end of the other part of the wiper arm which part is connected to the first part of the wiper arm in an articulated fashion, a wiper element is arranged which is spring loaded against the window to be wiped. The axis of the joint between the two parts of the wiper arm is located essentially in a plane parallel to the plane of the pendular motion of the wiper arm. An actuation element which can be displaced in a longitudinal bore of the wiper shaft influences the spring loading of the wiper element against the window. One end of a pretensioned spring is attached to the second part of the wiper arm and its other end is operatively connected to the actuation element. By displacing the actuation element in the wiper shaft, the contact pressure of the wiper element on the window can be changed. …<IMAGE>… </p> |
