<p>PURPOSE:To separate and recover a high-purity metal from an alloy containing the metal as a low-percent constituent, by forming a solid massive intermetallic compound by cooling a molten alloy of the metal to be recovered and other metals and vaporizing the metal to be recovered by heating the intermetallic compound. CONSTITUTION:A molten alloy 39 of a metal to be recovered and other metals having different vapor pressure is introduced into a molten metal holding furnace 31 by actuating heaters 35-38 and vacuum pumps 42-44. Then the molten alloy 39 is introduced into a low-temperature holding furnace 32 and cooled and a solid mass 40 of an intermetallic compound of the metal to be recovered and other metals is produced. The produced solid mass 40 is introduced to one end of a conduit 46 by means of a bucket 47 and loaded into an evaporizing furnace 33. In the furnace 33, the solid mass 40 is heated and melted into a molten metal 41 and the vapor of the metal to be recovered is preferentially produced. The produced vapor is made to flow into a condensation furnace 34 through a conduit 50 and condensated into a molten metal 57. The molten metal 57 is taken out through an opening/closing valve 59.</p> |
