PURPOSE:To improve the resistance of a sealed type organic electrolyte battery against liquid leakage, and its preservation characteristics by forming its insulation packing of ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene copolymer resin, ethylene- hexafluoropropylene copolymer resin, etc. CONSTITUTION:A positive active material 5 consisting of manganese dioxide is positioned in a case 1 and a negative active material 3 consisting of lithium is press fitted to a sealing plate 2, in such a way that they are opposite to each other via a separator 6. Their periphery is sealed with an insulation packing 7 to form a sealed type battery. In this instance, the insulation packing 7 is formed by the copolymer resin of ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene, ethylene- hexafluoropropylene or ethylene-trifluorochloroethylene. The said packing, therefore, comes to have a low transmission coefficient of vapor and is free from deterioration due to heated oxidization, even if in contact with a heavy metal, so that good battery characteristics can be maintained for a long time even in the environment of high temperature and humidity. |
