The device forms a hood which can be arranged from outside over a window opening when the window is in the open position. The hood has a frame (1) running all around with a given width in the depth and is provided with a contact flange (2) which is arranged on the side of the frame (1) which in the effective position of the hood is to bear against the facade of the building.
