PURPOSE:To produce a composition containing a filler dispersed uniformly in a resin matrix, without necessitating excessive power and heat, by mixing powdery or fibrous inorganic compound filler, an organic solvent solution of a thermoplastic resin, and water, and removing the solvent from the mixture by distillation. CONSTITUTION:A filler consisting of a powdery or fibrous inorganic compound, an organic solvent solution of a thermoplastic resin, and water are mixed with each other to disperse the organic solvent solution of the thermoplastic resin containing said filler in water, and the organic solvent is distilled off from the organic solvent solution of said thermoplastic resin. The resin is e.g. polycarbonate, polyarylate, etc., and its concentration in the organic solvent is 1-30wt%. The process is effective for the preparation of a resin composition for master batch having high filler concentration.
