PURPOSE:To prevent the breakdown of a junction by reducing currents flowing from a diffusion region surrounded even through the application of an inverse voltage surge is made by contacts formed at each corner section. CONSTITUTION:Contacts 11 represent contacts with metallic wirings 5 shaped at several corner sectionn of a P<+> diffusion region 3. The arrows (a), (b) represent the directions that currents flow when an inverse voltage surge is applied. Currents by the arrow (b) are reduced because of a resistance section in the P<+> diffusion region 3, and currents by the arrow (a) are also minimized because of a large distance L between an N<+> diffusion region 2 in theresistance section and the P<+> diffusion region 3. Accordingly, a calorific value by currents is also decreased, thus easily preventing the generation of the breakdown of a junction. |
