Procedure for automated mounting of electrical components (1) on a circuit board (5) where the component is gripped in a starting position, which can be defined, and moved to the circuit board (5), where the connecting wires (2) of the component is inserted in the appropriate holes (6) of the circuit board. Before insertion in the holes, the connecting wires are cut to the desired length. When cut, the connecting wires (2) are given at least one guide edge (11) that is diagonal in relation to the centre line (14) of the wire and allows the wire to centre itself in the hole.
