PURPOSE:To secure a taking up process for a linear material according to a method which is applied to reversely take up the linear material already taken up in a supply reel in an alternate reel, wherein a partition-like wire twist preventing stay is interposed between both reels which eliminates curling trend of the linear material. CONSTITUTION:When a linear material 13 taken up in a supply reel 11 is reversely rewound in a rewinding reel 12, a partition-like wire twist preventing stay 14 in which the internal G between two flat plates 14, 14' is slightly greater than the diameter of the linear material 13 is in stalled between both reels 11, 12. Then, the curling trend and looseness of the linear material 13 are gradually eliminated and absorbed respectively by taking out the linear material 13 from the supply reel 11 in the direction for maintaining its trend of curl, while slackening it for preventing its twist by means of the confronting surface of the above-mentioned stay 14 and forcing it to run inside the stay 14. Thereafter, the linear material 13 is taken up in the rewinding reel 12 in the direction opposite to that in the case of supply reel 11. |
