PURPOSE:To synthesize easily two video signals asynchronous with each other surely with simple constitution by receiving a synchronizing signal from a synchronizing signal generating circuit and reading out video signals from the first memory and the second memory synchronously and synthesizing the first and the second video signals read out from memories. CONSTITUTION:Video signal processing circuits 8 and 10 read out stored video signals from picture memories 9 and 19 synchronously with the synchronizing signal and lead them to a video synthesizing circuit 21. The video synthesizing circuit 21 synthesizing digital video signals from the video signal processing circuit 8 and the video signal processing circuits 18, and the synthesized video signal is given to a cathode-ray tube 10 to display a desired picture. Thus, two video signals different from each other which are read from discs 1 and 11 are stored preliminarily in picture memories 9 and 19, and they are synthesized by the video synthesizing circuit 21 synchronously with the synchronizing signal from a synchronizing signal generating circuit 20 which generates the same synchronizing signals as video signals.
