A PORTABLE,IDENTIFYING ELEMENT CONSTRUCTED AS A LAMINATION OF SHEETS

An identification element comprises a sheet laminate of synthetic resin including at least one integrated solid state electronic circuit(3) for data processing. The circuit has external access contacts and is supported by an insulating plastic carrier sheet(4) to be located in a cavity(2) in a main insulating plastic sheet(1). The cover(6) and main support sheets are pref. of PVC while the carrier is of polyimide, and there is a metal sheet(7) in thermal contact with the circuit. The arrangement minimizes internal stresses in the carrier caused by bending of the laminate.
