PURPOSE:To efficiently manufacture a stepped shaft-like product having prescribed shapes at the end sections at a high material yield, by putting a round bar-like blank material between plural rotary dies respectively equipped with stepped-section forming sections on the outer surfaces, with the outer peripheral surface of the blank material being pushed by the dies, and at the same time, forming the end sections with mandrels. CONSTITUTION:A round bar-like blank material is put between a pair of rotary dies 1 and 1 for forming outer peripheral surface which are respectively equipped with stepped-section forming sections 2 and 2 of prescribed shapes on the outer surfaces and rotated in the same direction, and the blank material is pushed by the dies 1 and 1. At the same time, mandrels 6 and 6 for forming end sections of shaft having prescribed shapes and dimensions arranged on the axis of the blank material are pushed against the axis end sections of the said blank material. Therefore, a stepped shaft-like product of desired dimensions is obtained efficiently at a high yield of material by simultaneously forming the outer peripheral section and end sections of the blank material. |
