PURPOSE:To set easily a write protecting area and at the same time to protect surely data on the protecting area, by storing collectively the control information on the write protecting area in a specific memory device. CONSTITUTION:The control information 11 on the write protecting area corresponding to magnetic disk devices 4-1-4-N are collectively stored in the magnetic disk device 4-1 among those devices 4-1-4-N connected to a magnetic disk controller 3. In an initial actuation mode, a control logic circuit 8 of the controller 3 reads out the information 11 stored in a system control area of the device 4-1 and stores them in a RAM 11. |
