PURPOSE:To reduce the amount of transfer from a correcting tape to a printing paper by a method in which the correcting tape is fed before or after the erasing impact of letters under the conditions of P/N, where P is the amount of feeding the correcting tape which is needed for erasing one letter and N is the number of erasing impacts for letters. CONSTITUTION:A printing ribbon or a correcting tape is shifted to printing positions by shifting upwards a shifting base 4. A sprocket gear 5a is provided below a winding reel 5 for the correcting tape. By the shifting action of the correcting tape during the letter-erasing period, a drive lever 5b for the gear 5a is driven toward the direction of arrows, and the gear 5a, or the reel 5, is turned to feed a given length of the correcting tape, Each time three-time letter erasing impacts are made for one letter, the shift action of the correcting tape is made. The amount of feeding the correcting tape is controlled to 1/3 of the conventional feeding amount. The amount of transfer by the second letter-erasing impact from the correcting tape to printing paper can be lessened. |
