PURPOSE:To enable the ends of all sheets to be correctly arranged according to a method wherein the sheets supplied continuously from the paper sheet feeder are folded, one by one, halfway down their length and arranged by the action of a brush roller mounted on the stacker tray of a paper end array unit. CONSTITUTION:This bookbinder comprises a control section A, a feeder B, a folder C, a collator D, a sewing section E, a binding section F and a stacker G. The sheets supplied continuously from the feeder B are folded halfway down their length by rollers 6 and 7 and piled up by a conveying roller 14 at the stacker tray 52, 54. The folded sheets are then transferred to the wall plate 34, while brushed on the surface by a brush roller 47, and placed in position by the action of rollers 40 and 45. The folded sheets are then sewn by the operation of the stitcher 59 at the sewing section E. The sewn book is dropped into the stacker G. |
