PURPOSE:To enable a book-binding work to be correctly carried out after precisely arraying the ends of paper sheets by empolying such a system in which the sheets supplied continuously from the feeder are folded halfway down their length, and subject to intermediate sewing after their folded edges are fitted to the base of a stitcher. CONSTITUTION:This bookbinder comprises a control section A, a feeder B, a folder C, a collator D, a sewing section E, a binding section F and a stacker G. The sheets supplied continuously from the feeder B are folded halfway down their length by rollers 6 and 7 at the folder C and piled up on a stacker tray 52, 54 by a conveying roller 14 where the sheets are positioned by rotating rollers 40 and 45. A stitcher 59 at the sewing section E is activated, upon reception from the feeder B a signal indicating the completion of the feeding of all sheets, to sew the sheets into a book form. The sewn book is then dropped into a tray 65, 66 at the stacker G. |
