PURPOSE:To secure linearity of an electrode while correcting it for improving processing accuracy and for reducing any disconnection of the electrode by effecting discharge processing while periodically changing a discharge peak current supplied between the electrode and a workpiece and a supply duration thereof or rest time of the current supply. CONSTITUTION:Electrical discharge processing is effected while applying a voltage pulse of a period specified by supply time TON and rest time by a control circuit 12 in an ordinary manner and thereby a wire electrode 2 is bent and hence a portion of a workpiece 1 to be processed is bent. Thereupon, the rest time tauOFF1 is prolonged to a longer rest time tauOFF2 to reduce an averaged processing current whereby linearity of the wire electrode in the vicinity of a center of the processed portion of the workpiece 1. Accordingly, advanced the wire electrode 2 to a position shown by a double-dotted chain line keeping its state unchanged, the bending of the processed portion is corrected. So, the processing is again returned to the ordinary processing method for high speed processing. Thus, by repeating the above operation, problems caused by the bending of the wire electrode 2 can be prevented from being produced without reducing an average processing speed. |
