PURPOSE:To provide the titled composition having improved discoloration resistance, mechanical strength and adhesivity to dental metals and tooth, by using an organic peroxide, an aromatic secondary or tertiary amine, and barbituric acid as the essential components of a curing agent for a radically polymerizable monomer. CONSTITUTION:The objective dental restoration composition curable at normal temperature and useful as a resin for bed, dental cement, adhesive, composite, etc., is composed of (A) 100pts.(wt.) of a radically polymerizable monomer such as methyl methacrylate and (B) a curing agent containing (i) 0.05-5pts. of an organic peroxide such as benzoyl peroxide, (ii) 0.05-5pts. of an aromatic secondary and/or tertiary amine such as N-di(beta-hydroxyethyl)-p-toluidine and (iii) 0.01-10pts. of barbituric acid and/or its derivative such as 5-butyl derivative, and if necessary, (iv) an acid anhydride or a phosphoric acid ester. The composition is resistant to discoloration, and exhibits excellent mechanical strength and high adhesivity.
