NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by the formula I (R1-R3 are H, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, alkoxyalkyl, or alkylthioalkyl; R4 is alkyl; R5-R7 are H, halogen, alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, alkoxy, or alkylthio). USE:A herbicide. Showing improved herbicidal effect on gramineous weeds, broad- leaved weeds, and perennial weeds by soil application before and after germination. Showing excellent herbicidal effect especially on gramineous weeds. PREPARATION:An aniline derivative shown by the formula II is reacted with a chloroacetyl halogenide shown by the formula III (X is halogen) in the presence of a hydrogen halogenide scavenger (e.g., trialkylamine, or sodium carbonate), to give a compound shown by the formula I.
