PURPOSE:To enable an analog continuous gradation to be transfer recorded and use the title sheet on a monochrome or full-color printer in the fields of OA, facsimile or the like, by limiting the weight percentage of a pigment essentially incorporated in an ink material, the diameter of through-holes in a thermal transfer layer and the amount of the ink material applied to within specified ranges. CONSTITUTION:The thermal transfer layer 2 comprises an ink material the viscosity of which is controlledly reduced by temperature rise recording control to obtain transferrability to a recording medium and which contains at least a pigment as a coloring material in an amount of 15-70wt%. The thermal transfer layer 2 is provided in a quantity of 0.6-4g/m<2> on one side of a sheet form heat-resistant base 1 so that at least several through-holes 3 opened at the surface part of the layer 2 and having a diameter of 0.1-15mum are present in the layer 2 in correspondence with each picture element 4 on recording. If the content of the pigment in the ink material is less than 15wt%, the transfer-recorded density is insufficient even when a sufficient quantity, e.g., 4g/m<2>, of the ink material is applied, whereas if the content exceeds 70wt%, the binding force of the binder material for the pigment at room temperature is insufficient, and sufficient fixing on the recording material can not be achieved. |
