PLATED ARTICLE COMPOSED OF POLYPHENYLENE ETHER RESIN COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:To provide a plated article having excellent brightness and plate adhesion, by using a molding prepd. from a mixture obtd. by blending a copolymer contg. a vinyl cyanide compd. with a polyphenylene ether resin as a support. CONSTITUTION:A copolymer composed of a copolymer consisting of a vinyl cyanide compd. and an arom. vinyl compd. and contg. vinyl cyanide compd. of the formula (wherein R is H, alkyl) in quantities of 15-40wt% and 1-15wt% as a graft phase onto an elastic rubber phase and a copolymer consisting of a vinyl cyanide compd. and an arom. vinyl compd. and contg. an average of 1-15wt% vinyl cyanide compd. in the resin excluding the graft phase, if blended with a polyphenylene resin in such a proportion that the quantity of the vinyl chloride compd. accounts for 0.5-15wt% of that of the mixture. The mixture is molded and the molding is plated.
