摘要 PURPOSE:To enable an air-fuel ratio to be controlled correctly and reliably by providing a fuel supply quantity setting means available for setting the fuel supply quantity to such a quantity as capable of obtaining a air-fuel ratio on leans side or rich side in response to the air-fuel ratio to be controlled in advance. CONSTITUTION:The first fuel supply quantity setting means 26 sets the fuel supply quantity determined by a fuel supply means 23 to such a quantity as capable of obtaining a richer value than the defined air-fuel ratio. The second fuel supply quantity setting means 27 sets its fuel supply quantity to such a quantity capable of obtaining a leaner value than the defined air-fuel ratio. A switching means 28 makes changeover between the first and second fuel supply quantity setting means 26, and 27 in response to the air-fuel ratio to be controlled. Thus, a correct and reliable air-fuel ratio control can be carried out regardless whether the control mode is rich or lean.
