The folding table consists of a support frame having two pivotably connected frame parts (2, 3) to which two table leaves (5, 6) are joined. One table leaf (5) is fixed so as to be directly pivotable on one frame part (2) and is fixed to the other frame part (3) so as to be pivotable by means of an articulated lever (8). The other table leaf (6) is joined in the opposite manner, i.e. is mounted so as to be directly pivotable on the other frame part (3) and is mounted on the first frame part (2) so as to be pivotable by means of an articulated lever (11). The lever (8) of the upper leaf (5) extends downwards from the leaf, parallel to the frame part (3), and bears against a stop (14). In contrast, the lever (11) of the lower leaf (6) extends upwards from the leaf, parallel to the frame part (2), and likewise bears against a stop (14). This arrangement guarantees an absolutely stable position of use of the table, which can be released without effort for the purpose of folding the table up. <IMAGE>
