The concrete paving stone is constructed from two mirror-symmetrical halves (1, 2), the common side (8) of the two halves (1, 2) being the mirror line (3). Each half (1, 2) consists of a pentagon. The inner angle ( alpha ) of the points (13, 14) of each pentagon lying across the mirror line (3) is equal to the outer angle (ss) which is formed by the two outer sides (4, 4'; 7, 7') of each half which run towards the mirror line (3). In each case one spacing cam (16) is arranged only on in each case two mutually opposite sides (6, 5'; 4, 7') of each half. As a result of the simple shape of the paving stone, it is made possible to grip with a gripper a relatively large area made beforehand from a number of stones and to lay it in one go in the surface. <IMAGE>
