PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of the defective start-up due to corrosion or the formation of gum by immersing the parts of a brass material in a carburetor into a liq. mixture of a soln. having specified composition and emulsion of fluororesin, and then curing the resin by heating. CONSTITUTION:The parts of a brass material in a carburetor 1 such as a float 3, a main jet 11, etc. are immersed in a liq. mixture of 0.3-1.0wt% butylphenol sulfur compd., 0.3-1.5wt% glycolic org. acid, 0.1-1.0wt% imidazole heterocyclic org. compd., and emulsion of fluororesin. The resin is the cured by heating to form a coated film having 0.2-50mu thickness on the surface of the parts. Consequently, defective start-up due to clogging in a fuel flow passage by gum formed by corrosion and decomposition of fuel is prevented.
