PURPOSE:To obtain a silver halide photographic sensitive material, especially, a silver halide photographic printing paper superior in whiteness by incorporating a high-boiling org. solvent contg. chlorine, and a water-insoluble fluorescent whitening agent in at least one layer in the silver halide photosensitive material. CONSTITUTION:As the water-insoluble fluorescent whitening agent, oxazole, stilbene, coumarin, thiazole, imidazole, naphthalimide, etc., are enumerated, and above all, the most useful one is 2,5-bisbenzoxazolylthiophene type compd. represented by formula [I] in which the total C number of the alkyl parts of Y1, Y2, Z1, and Z2 is 8-30, or 2 or more of them have branched alkyl parts, or at least one of them has a >=6 branched alkyl part. As the high-boiling org. solvent, phosphates, phthalates, benzoates, paraffins, lactates, citrates, fatty acid esters, etc., are enumerated. |
