In the case of a method and of a device for measuring the bore of a drilled hole and for identifying geological formations with the aid of a probe, it is provided according to the invention that the probe emit electromagnetic waves which are reflected on the wall of the drilled hole, or are absorbed thereby, and that the reflected waves be received, detected and processed to form legible information, by the probe.
