In the case of a winding strip for winding or bandaging annular cores, annular coils, annular core parts, annular coil parts or circular arcs, this winding strip being provided for mutually overlapping winding or bandaging layers, the strip width (Ba, Bi) of the winding strip (1) has alternately wide sections (3), to be allocated to the outer surface (9), and narrow sections (4), to be allocated to the inner surface (10), transition sections (6, 7), to be allocated to the end surfaces (8), being provided between these sections (3, 4) and the strip width (Bx) in these transition sections (6, 7) reducing from the outside to the inside and increasing from the inside to the outside in such a manner that the winding strip (1) can be wound on all sides, overlapping by a predetermined amount, over the entire length of a winding (Fig. 1). <IMAGE>
