The invention relates to a switch securing unit having a housing (11) which is composed of housing parts (12, 13) and holds a manually operable switching rocker (14) having a securing plug (15). The underneath of the housing (11) is provided with a transverse groove (16) for mounting on a retaining rail (50). A gripping and centring jaw (18), which consists of a material having a higher coefficient of friction than the material of the housing (11), is inserted into one edge (17) of the transverse groove (16) in the housing parts (12, 13), at the level of the associated longitudinal edge of the retaining rail (50). This enables slip-free clamping and positioning of the housing on the retaining rail without thin side walls on the retaining rail breaking away during the installation. When the two housing parts (12, 13) are assembled during production of the switch securing unit, it is simultaneously possible to centre the housing parts at the start of their installation. <IMAGE>
