The lorry (20) has a torsion element (30) in the form of a flat hollow pipe whose end walls (32) are permanently connected at three points to the longitudinal members (22.1, 22.2) of the chassis. A fourth connection point (34) is provided with a coupling (35) which can be coupled and uncoupled transversely with respect to the direction of the forces originating from the torsional strains so that the torsion element can be involved, or not be involved, in the torsional behaviour and torsional resistance depending on the switching state of the coupling. The coupling can be switched manually, electromechanically, hydraulically or pneumatically. For this purpose, a working cylinder (45) and a return spring (42) are provided. <IMAGE>
