Aqueous latex compositions for use as contact adhesives comprising a copolymer A and a copolymer B and preferably a tackifying resin where A is an amorphous copolymer which comprises units of certain selected monomers preferably including vinylidene chloride, an internally plasticising monomer like 2-ethylhexyl acrylate, optionally vinyl chloride, and optionally a copolymerisable acid, and has Tg within the range -50 to <0 DEG C, and B is a crystalline polymer which comprises units of vinylidene chloride, and preferably at least one of an alkyl acrylate, alkyl methacrylate and vinyl chloride, and optionally a copolymerisable acid, and has a Tg of not more than 80 DEG C, and wherein copolymer A has a modal molecular weight Mp within the range 100,000 to 700,000. |
