The invention relates to the control of a hydraulically driven sausage-filling machine with a feed pump driven by a hydraulic motor and with a decompression device driven by a working cylinder, the pump and the decompression device being controlled by means of a valve. The aim is to minimise the effort involved in production and the outlay on equipment and to reduce the loading of the feed mechanism. The object of controlling both the hydraulic motor and the working cylinder with minimum expense is achieved by virtue of the fact that both consuming units are arranged with their lines in parallel and that there is a proportional directional control valve in the common lines. The invention can be used in all sausage-making sectors of the food industry.
