A surgical lancet has a blade (2), preferably shaped as a diamond blade and fixed at the end of a rod (1) mounted within a handle (6) provided with a hollow member. The rod, which is longitudinally movable but cannot turn, is linked at its rear end to a pusher (14) whereon a stop device is provided, which cooperates with a return spring (5) to hold the rod in an out position. The stop device has a groove (15) forming a curve (16) with an approximately heart-shaped contour. The curve is joined at the end of the groove (15) extending longitudinally at the periphery of the pusher (14). In the groove a protuberance (12) protrudes within the hollow member close to the rear end of the handle. The groove (15) has a triangular cross-section and the pusher (14) provided therewith is maintained in a retracted position by a return spring (17).
