PURPOSE:To remove matter stuck on a corona discharge wire and improve the efficiency of cleaning operation by providing a mover in a shield movably, driving a pinion by a motor provided to the mover, and engaging the pinion with a rack fixed in the lengthwise direction of the shield. CONSTITUTION:The mover 30 is provided along a couple of guide rods 29 and 29 movably in the lengthwise direction of the shield 2. The small-sized motor 37 is provided to the mover 30, and the pinion 39 is fixed to its rotating shaft 38 and is engaged with teeth 41 of a rack 40 fixed along one longitudinal plate 25. When the rotating shaft 38 of the motor 37 is rotated forward and backward, the pinion 39 rotates, so the mover 30 moves on the rack 40 along the guide rods 29. Then, the 1st and the 2nd pads 31 and 32 move in the lengthwise direction of the shield 2 in synchronism with the movement of the mover 30, so matter stuck on the corona discharge wire 1 and a grid wire 24 is cleaned away. |
