A troughed belt conveyor (10) for particulate products (18) such as stone or coal has a feed run (14a) of the belt supported within an arcuately profiled guide means formed of strips (17) of abrasion-resistant, low-friction material running in the direction of movement of the belt (14). The strips (17) may line a totally enclosed conveyor tube (11), minimising losses and environmental hazard. The return run (14b) is external of the tube (11) and roller-supported (16). Further advantages include maximisation of product (18) carried by the belt and low maintenance. |
