PURPOSE:To correct effectively variance in the spread angle of a laser beam between solid bodies by providing a stop which has a specific diameter in the optical path of the laser beam oscillated by a semiconductor laser. CONSTITUTION:The stop 7 which is variable in diameter to almost <=2.0 time as large as an incident laser beam at right angles to the joined surface of the semiconductor laser 1 and to about >=1.8 time as large as the incident laser beam in the direction of the joined surface is provided in the optical path of the laser beam. This stop 7 is fitted around the lens barrel of a cylindrical collimator lens 2 so that it is aligned to the laser beam. The collimator lens 2 is fitted to a lens support member 9 through a lens holder and moved forth and back by rotating an eccentric machine screw 10 engaging a groove formed in part of the lens barrel, adjusting the focus finely.
