1,151,685. Stud and socket fastenings. MAID-RITE NOVELTY CORP. 21 June, 1967 [24 June, 1966], No. 28642/67. Heading E2B. A separable fastener for wearing apparel comprises a plate 13, formed with at least one aperture 20, and an element 14 (shown separately in Fig. 5), the element comprising a body 24 and projecting portions 27, 28 extending from opposite ends of the body in opposed directions, the element being insertable into the aperture, further movement from the position shown in Fig. 4 in the direction 34 causing a lip 33 to snap through the aperture and yieldably retain the body portion therein, Fig. 3 (not shown). The plate and the element are formed of plastics material, the element of a more rigid material than the plate. The projecting portion 27 and the body 25 may be threaded through a slot (not shown) in a tape 16, the latter being folded around projecting portion 28 and retained by extended extremities 29 of portion 28. The plate 13 may be sewn or bonded to an elastic strip 15. Projecting portion 28 may alternatively be formed with a slot, Fig. 7 (not shown), through which tape 16 may extend. In a modification, Fig. 8 (not shown), projecting portion 28 is formed integrally with the frame of a suspender-type fastening. |
