PURPOSE:To make the serial/parallel conversion of data unnecessary and to speed up a data transfer between a recording medium and an external device by executing writing and reading of each bit on the recording medium installed corresponding to each bit of a digital signal. CONSTITUTION:When external digital signal data is written, it is built up in approriate units (for instance, eight bits) in a data buffer circuit 6. All built-up bits are simultaneously written on respective recording faces 7a-7h, totaling eight faces, on a magnetic disk through heads 2a-2h corresponding to a certain bit unit. In case of reading the data, a read/write circuit 4 for executing a read control reads simultaneously the data on the recoding faces 7a-7h of the magnetic disk 7. Accordingly data from the circuit 4 can be accumulated in the data buffer circuit 6 without converting serially or parallel, and transmitted to an external device. |
