PURPOSE:To prevent optical characteristics from varying owing to the distortion of a housing due to stress from a fitting part by fixing an acoustooptic element, elements which couple diffracted light and transmitted light, and an input and an output optical fibers in the housing. CONSTITUTION:Light from an optical fiber 26 is inputted to the acoustooptic element 21; its transmitted light is guided to an optical fiber 31 through a coupling optical element 30 and its diffracted light is guided to an optical fiber 29 through coupling optical elements 28a and 28b. Those parts are fixed in the housing 32, which is coupled with a fitting plate 33 with two arrays of three coupling screws 35 at right angles to the main optical axis. When intervals A of fitting holes 34 for fitting the fitting plate 33 to equipment are about three times as large as the array width B of the screws 35, the stress of the fitting part never extend to the housing 32. Therefore, neither the position nor direction of the main optical axis is distorted depending upon the way of fitting and no external oscillation is transmitted, so stable performance is maintained.
